So, my name is Kevin Cleynhens. I was born on May 19, 1982. I live in a little village
called Werchter (about 30 kilometers from Brussels, near Leuven).
Education
I got my degree in
economic sciences with a specialisation in
International Relations.
At EHSAL, I studied the economic side of the international system. From
September 2004 till June 2005, I took classes at the University of Leuven. I
specialized further in international relations and conflict management.
Job
On October 3, 2005 a new chapter of my life started. I was
hired by Aviapartner as a loadmaster. For now, I really like the job. Most
of people ask me why I choose to go and work there while I have a degree in
economics. The answer is really simple actually. I would go bananas on a 9-to-5
job where I would spend my entire time behind a desk.
Hobbies
It may seem somewhat surprising to you, but I am fascinated by aviation. I like
to go to the airport, mainly Brussels National Airport, and take pictures of
aircraft (=planespotting). When I'm not at the airport taking pictures, I like
to read all about it or sort my pictures. Besides taking pictures of aircraft, I
also collect their safety cards. I guess I
must have picked that up during my vacation job.
But that's not all there is about me, I like to read fantasy books, thrillers,
detective stories, and so on (I absolutely adore Clive Cussler or Tom Clancy). I
couldn't live without my music. It's like John Miles put it: 'Music was my first
love, and it will be my last'. You know what, he's absolutely right... You could
say I have a wide variety of genres I like: from classical (Ouverture 1812 from
Tsjaikovski is magnificent) to pop & rock (like Eric Clapton, Dire Straits,
Status Quo, REM, ...) and modern artists (Coldplay, Vanessa Carlton, The Corrs,
...). I absolutely dispise house and techno. I even refuse to call it music.
Besides taking pictures of airplanes, I occasionally take photographs of other
things/persons as well. Here are some of them.
